Our Legacies

04 Mar Our Legacies

Hopefully you have someone special in your life that has changed it for the better. Someone, family or not, that has touched you and for whom you are truly grateful to have known. For me it was my grandmother, Rose Gutierrez.

Today is the one year anniversary of her death and though I think of her daily, I’m especially reminded today of her impact on my life and so many others. She was so much more than my grandmother. She was my mother, my champion, my biggest cheerleader. She loved my children beyond measure and would’ve done anything for us. She was generous and caring and loved by so many.

Even if we don’t have family that we can leave such a heritage and legacy to we can still do this for everyone in our lives, friends and strangers alike. May we all strive to be our best selves each and every day and take a moment to reach out those around us, showing a generosity of spirit to those we meet with daily so that they can look back and be reminded of our caring and love for them.

There isn’t another person like Grama on earth. Even more than you and I; Hannah, Alex, Jacob and Zachary hung the moon for her. She lived for them and loved them more than one would even think possible. I can’t believe that it has already been a year, it just doesn’t get any easier to live without her.
